THIS YEARS NH YAM FLAG DESIGN WINNER is SALEM HIGH SCHOOL GRADE 9
ART TEACHER: MRS. PAOLINO
NHAEA is pleased to announce that a new flag has been designed to represent New Hampshire for Youth Art Month.
The flag competition is open to all states, as part of the Youth Art Month program, and is a great way to give student designers a public showing. New Hampshire has not had a new design for a number of years, and it was time to launch the competition again this year.
We received a number of wonderful entries by students of all ages. The winning design came from Salem High School art student Jamie Mastrogiacomo , grade 9, and was submitted by her teacher Lyn Paolino.
The flag was printed by the High Flying Flag Co. of Greenland, NH. It will be included in the Youth Art Month exhibition at the National Art Education Association annual conference in New Orleans.
Once it is back here in New Hampshire we are planning to gather Jamie, her parents, teacher Lyn Paolino, NHAEA President Lisa Rancourt and others for a photo-op with Governor Maggie Hassan in April. The flag will then be hung at NHAEA events during the year, including the Fall Conference and Annual Members’ Reception.
YAM was held at Kimball Jenkins Estate in Concord NH
2012-2013 was held at
Karl Drerup Art Gallery at Plymouth State University March 4 - 30, 2013
